How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your PostureRay Virtual View Box
Video Tutorial: https://youtu.be/sNeN0oMY5fI
1. Why two-factor authentication is required
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) is mandatory for the online Viewbox account.
- It protects your data the same way banking apps protect sensitive information.
- 2FA adds a second verification step beyond your password.
- Even if someone gets or guesses your password, they still cannot access the account without the second factor.
2. Open your account settings 0:53
- Log in to your Viewbox account.
- Click your account name at the top of the screen.
- Go to User Logins.
3. Turn on 2FA 1:09
- In the User Logins area, click Add to FA.
- Follow the on-screen directions to enable two-factor authentication.
- Confirm that you want to turn it on.
- Be aware that enabling 2FA will immediately log you out, and you will need to sign back in.
4. Use an authenticator app 1:43
- The recommended method is an authenticator app such as:
- Authy
- Google Authenticator
- These apps scan a QR code and generate time-based codes.
- App-based 2FA is preferred over text messages because SMS can be spoofed or SIM-swapped.
- Make sure you have backups and access to any additional devices you use for authentication.
5. Scan the QR code and save the account 2:55
- After logging back in, you will see a QR code and setup instructions.
- Open your authenticator app and choose Scan QR code.
- Point your camera at the QR code shown in Viewbox.
- The app will create a new entry for the account.
- Save the entry in the authenticator app.
6. Enter the verification code to finish setup 3:26
- Look at the 6-digit code generated by your authenticator app.
- Enter that code into Viewbox before it expires.
- The code changes quickly, so you only have a short window to submit it.
- Click Enable Two Factor to complete setup.
- Once accepted, 2FA is turned on and your account is protected.
7. Log in with 2FA going forward 4:06
- After 2FA is enabled, every future login will require the code from your authenticator app.
- Enter your username/password as usual.
- Then open the authenticator app and type in the current code.
- Once entered correctly, you will be signed in.
