How to self-install PostureRay Upgrade

Also note this tutorial demonstrates how to install an update to an already existing PostureRay Workstation that is already activated with your license. This is not the tutorial that outlines how to move your PostureRay software.

PostureRay Self-Upgrade Procedure
Objective
This outlines the steps to perform a self-upgrade of PostureRay to a more recent version, ensuring data safety and proper installation.
Key Steps
Step 1: Consult IT Professional 0:15
- Before starting the upgrade, consult with your IT professional to discuss the process and ask any questions.
Step 2: Verify Current Installation Location 3:01
- Right-click on the Posteray shortcut and select ‘Properties’.
- Note the installation path (usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Posterco\Posteray). Ensure you know this location for the upgrade.
Step 3: Create a Backup 4:11
- Open File Explorer and navigate to the installation folder.
- Create a new folder on your desktop named ‘Backup Posteray [Date]’.
- Copy the entire Posteray folder into this backup folder.
Step 4: Start the Upgrade Process 7:03
- Right-click on the downloaded Posteray installer and select ‘Run as administrator’.
- Click ‘Yes’ to allow changes.
Step 5: Follow Installation Prompts 9:11
- Accept the End User License Agreement by clicking ‘Next’.
- If your installation is in a different location, change the path accordingly; otherwise, click ‘Next’.
- Review the installation settings and click ‘Install’.
Step 6: Complete the Installation 10:01
- After installation, click ‘Finish’.
- Ensure that the application starts correctly by double-clicking the Posteray shortcut.
Step 7: Log In to Posteray 10:40
- Enter your login credentials to access the upgraded version of Posteray.
Cautionary Notes
- Always ensure you have a valid backup before starting the upgrade process.
- If you are using a sunsetted version of Posteray, you will need to enroll in a technical support plan for assistance if issues arise during the upgrade.
