PostureScreen in published research.

We searched the scholarly databases for every paper that names PostureScreen or one of its modules, read the abstract or full text of each, and sorted them by how the app was used. Only studies that measured people with the app, or tested the app itself, are counted. Each study is counted once.

published studies have used or validated PostureScreen
used it to measure participants (outcome measure)
tested its validity or reliability
of those are full peer-reviewed journal articles
only mention or cite it (not counted)
undetermined (not counted)
false hits on “posture screen” in the final set
Generic matches were filtered out before review

Every paper we reviewed

How the count splits

By publication type and by the part of PostureScreen that was used. Single-patient case reports are counted as journal articles but shown separately so they are not mistaken for group studies.

By publication type

By module (counted studies)

LeanScreen (body composition), SitScreen and range of motion are modules inside the PostureScreen app.

Safe public wording

Each line is backed by the counts on this page. Use the date with any number, because the count only grows.

Avoid: “60 validation studies” (only are validation studies), “clinically proven”, or adding mention-only papers to the total. Do not combine the PostureRay page count with the PostureScreen count as if they were all studies of one product.

PostureRay: what PostureCo’s own page lists

This number comes from PostureCo’s PostureRay research page (postureanalysis.com/postureray-research/, read ), not from a literature search. It is a count of the publications listed there.

    unique publications listed
    used PostureRay itself
used PostureRay’s predecessor research software (CBP Non-Profit studies, 1998–2021)
    have no working article link
Dead journal pages or a meeting abstract

    By section of the page

Two case reports on this page (Parkinson’s 2019 and Scheuermann’s 2019) are also on the PostureScreen research page. Their text names only PostureRay, so they are “undetermined” for PostureScreen and are not in the PostureScreen count. The Journal of Contemporary Chiropractic links on the page returned 404 on .

      How this was counted

Searched and verified October 12, 2026. Every number on this page is computed from the study list above; nothing is estimated.

      Definitions

Outcome measurePostureScreen (or a module) was used to measure the participants: as an outcome, a predictor, or to sort people into groups. The abstract or methods must say so.
ValidationThe study’s purpose was to test PostureScreen’s or LeanScreen’s validity, reliability or agreement with another method.
Mention onlyReviews, protocols, background citations, and studies that measured people with a different tool. Not counted.
Not PostureScreenGeneric “posture screen(ing)” or another product. Not counted.
UndeterminedWe could not confirm from the paper that PostureScreen was the tool. Not counted.

“Used in research” = outcome measure + validation. Preprints and meeting abstracts of the same study are merged into one row ( versions merged). Theses are listed separately (linked to the journal article of the same study when there is one) and are not added to the total. “Peer-reviewed” = full journal articles, including case reports; conference abstracts and proceedings papers are listed separately.

Sources searched (October 9, 2026 sweep)

      • Google Scholar: every result for posturescreen (about 734 read, newest first and by relevance) plus Scholar’s related searches (validity, reliability, accuracy, exercise, ergonomics, sitting and others).
      • NCBI PubMed and PMC full text, Europe PMC full text, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar (including full-text snippets), Crossref and CORE.
      • Theses: OATD, BASE, ProQuest listings, university repositories, the Turkish National Thesis Center (YÖK), Brazilian BDTD and Spanish, Italian, Greek and Baltic repositories.
      • Regional journals: DergiPark and TR Dizin (Turkey), SciELO, Redalyc, Dialnet and LILACS, the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, CyberLeninka, Garuda, J-STAGE and KCI.
      • ResearchGate and Academia.edu public pages, and conference abstract books (ACSM, EULAR, CBP).
      • PostureCo’s own research library and catalog. All entries from PostureCo’s old research page are in the list.
      • Trial registries (ClinicalTrials.gov, WHO ICTRP) were used only to find published results papers. Registrations themselves are not listed.

      Verification

      • Each paper was read and classified from its own text. Where possible this meant the methods section of the full text: PMC, the publisher’s open-access PDF, the thesis PDF, or a copy held by PostureCo. The verbatim sentence showing how the app was used is kept with each study.
      • The sentence must name the app (PostureScreen, Posture Screen Mobile, LeanScreen, SitScreen or SquatScreen). A paper that only says “posture screening app” is held for PostureCo to confirm, not listed.
      • Every newly counted study was then re-checked by an independent skeptic who opened the source again.
      • Listed studies whose earlier evidence came from an abstract were re-read from the full text on October 9, 2026.
      • For paywalled papers, the abstract’s methods sentence had to name the app explicitly.

Limits: treat the total as a floor

      • Paywalled papers whose abstract does not name the app are held until PostureCo can read the full text.
      • A few repositories block automated access, so a thesis listed only there may be missed until someone finds it by hand.
      • New papers are searched for twice a week and added only after the same methods check, so the count only grows.
